Zelve Open Air Museum
Zelve Open Air Museum is one of the oldest settlements in the region, within the borders of Goreme Historical National Park in Cappadocia. The open-air museum, named after the valley where it is located, is located on the Göreme-Avanos Highway. Zelve Valley, one of the most interesting places in Cappadocia, is one of the places where fairy chimneys are most beautiful and dense.
A region where Christians lived between the 9th and 13th centuries. Zelve, which was an important religious center at that time, was used as a settlement for local people until the 1950s. Zelve, which has houses carved into the rocks, churches, monasteries, tunnels, dovecotes, mosque, and village square, is open to visitors as ruins today.
Pasabag Valley
After turning in the direction of Zelve from Avanos - Göreme road, you will come to Pasabag Valley just before arriving in Zelve. Pasabag Valley, where interesting fairy chimneys in the form of mushrooms, which are unique in the Cappadocia region, are located, is also one of the places where the formation and development of fairy chimneys can be best observed. It is also very enjoyable to walk here, as the walking paths pass between the fairy chimneys.
